28 Oct October Stewardship
Thank You to Lincoln Park Conservancy’s Stewardship Volunteers!
Each year, from April through October, our stewardship volunteers assist with litter pick-up, weeding, mulching and other tasks that help make Lincoln Park an inspiringly beautiful place. Many thanks to all of this season’s stewardship volunteers for the contribution of their time and efforts! This year’s volunteers removed thousands of gallons of trash and countless invasive and nuisance plants from the park.
Our North Pond Gardeners met on 13 Saturdays this year and will meet for the final time this season on Nov 5th (hope to see you there!). With an average of about 25 volunteers per workday, that’s a total of 700+ hours of litter abatement and gardening! It takes a lot of hard work to keep the park in tip-top shape. We’re grateful to our Gardeners for a fun and productive season.
Additionally, we hosted 27 corporate workdays, bringing over 300 people to the park to give back on a day they’d otherwise be in the office. This year’s corporate workday efforts totaled over 600 hours spent clearing debris, pulling weeds and removing over 1,500 gallons of litter from the park! Thank you to our corporate partners for spending their workdays with us.
Wishing you a restful off-season. We’re looking forward to working with you again next Spring!
