Walk the Pond 2020 is around the corner! Walk the Pond has traditionally been a one-day fundraising and family event in support of our work in Lincoln Park. This year, with the exciting launch of our North Pond restoration project and to reflect COVID-19 social distancing requirements, Walk the Pond is going virtual. We invite our supporters to join us for a month-long opportunity to explore nature close to your home, enjoy nature play and educational activities related to pond ecology and other aspects of the North Pond restoration, and to spread the word about the North Pond project on social media.
Tickets are free with a suggested donation of $20 per family or group. We will accept donations of any amount. Simply register with your contact information and social media handle (the name you use on Facebook, Instagram, etc.) to receive exclusive access to our curated Walk the Pond nature activities, ideal for kids and adults who love nature and want to learn more. Earn virtual badges as you complete the activities and post your badges on your social media profile to show your support!
Participants also commit to getting out in nature wherever you live, and to posting photos of your nature exploration using #walkthepond and tagging us (IG: @lpconservancy FB: @chicagolincolnpark). While we encourage participants to create crowdfunding pages in support of the restoration project, this is not a requirement to register. Our goal is to encourage everyone to get out in nature safely during COVID and to spread the word about the Conservancy’s biggest Park project to date, North Pond’s restoration!
Click here to register and to learn more. We can’t wait to #walkthepond with you!
Proceeds will benefit the Lincoln Park Conservancy’s restoration of North Pond.
